Representing complex numbers using amplitude and argument

Here we will explain the amplitude and argument used in the complex number notation in each chapter.

The complex number C=a+jb can be expressed as follows using the amplitude r and argument φ:

The relationship between the parameters can be illustrated on the complex plane as follows: Here, the sign of the angle is again positive in the counterclockwise direction and negative in the clockwise direction.
